Seven fine original hand-colored copper engraved plates (t. 2791-2797), drawn by W. J. Hooker, engraved by Joseph Swan, accompanied by corresponding descriptive letterpress text leaves. Plate tabs 2795 & 2797 feature rare orchids. Wrappers intact with spine split but holding, stitching sound; plates lightly offset to facing page, edges untrimmed; advertisements on verso of upper wrapper and on recto and verso of lower wrapper. Four page advertisement for various fruit and botanical works, printed in letterpress, is laid in, and at the conclusion of the text is a two-page advertisement by the Atlas Assurance Company. Rare in original monthly parts as issued.
