PUBLICITY STILL FOR "ADVICE TO THE LOVELORN."
[Hollywood]: 20th Century Picture - United Artists, [1933]. Original 8 x 10" glossy b&w still. Pencil notation naming the subjects of the photograph and the date of the film's release on verso, otherwise near fine.
A studio publicity still for the first attempt at translating West's MISS LONELYHEARTS to the silver screen, based on a script by Leonard Praskins, directed by Alfred Werker, and starring Lee Tracy and Sally Blane, who are both featured in this image. The fact that the adaptation was far from faithful to West's novel is a matter of record; nonetheless, publicity material for the film is uncommon. Near fine. Item #773
