A salesman's sample book, or dummy, for this projected set of eight volumes. Two page prospectus, sample pages of text, fifteen samples of the plates of drawings and photographs that liberally illustrate the complete set, printed on Japan paper with three near fine representative gilt decorated and lettered spine examples affixed to rear pastedown.
